Due to a power surge at the water treatment facility, it caused an issue with electrical equipment that resulted in a temporary lapse in water service. The City of Houston has previously announced that it will begin progressively increasing its groundwater reduction plan fee (GRP Fee) in April of each year, beginning in 2022 and extending through 2026. On April 1, 2025, the City of Houston increased the GRP Fee that you see as a separate line item on your water bill every month by 4.3%. Therefore, please be advised that the fee imposed by the District in connection with such GRP Fee will increase from $2.83 to $2.95 per 1,000 gallons of water used each month, effective as of April 21, 2025.
